My CPU Collection

The purpose of this page is simply to catalogue the CPUs in my own personal collection and more importantly, keep placeholders for those that are missing. I'm not really a CPU collector ("I gotta have 'em all!"), but I do have a pretty ok stash of PC hardware to be able to build almost any PC from 1985 to 2000 without using too much "out of era" kit.

So anyway, here goes... all CPUs are tested and working unless otherwise stated, are sorted by socket, then by manufacturer, then by speed in MHz/GHz. Oh, and these are desktop PC CPUs, so no laptop/surface-mount CPUs in this list. All prices include P&P (packing and shipping).

UMC U5S Super 40
(486SX-40)
40 MHz FSB, 8KB L1 cache, 5V. The very first CPU I bought as a component for a self-build rather than buying a full PC. Not sure I can backup the claim here that it runs at 30-48% faster than an Intel 486 clock for clock, but a great chip nonetheless.

Socket 7 Processors

Intel Pentium (P54C) 120
(March 1995)
(x3) 120 MHz clock, 60 MHz FSB, 2x multiplier. 3.3V
The first of these is part number A80502-120 with sSpec of SX994 (CPUID=0525h, Stepping=C2, Core=3.4-3.6V). This CPU has reduced minimum valid timings on some output pins.
The second of these is part number A80502120 with sSpec of SY062 (CPUID=052Ch or 252Ch, Stepping=12, Core=3.3V). This version got an improved FPU with debugging extensions, machine check exception, model-specific registers, page-size extensions (4MB pages), a time-stamp counter and virtual 8086-mode enhancements.
