THIS UPDATE DOES NOT REMOVE PASSWORDS.

System passwords can be lost or forgotten.  The function of this BIOS
upgrade is to re-enable HP OmniBook 600C/CT password capabilities
lost with the introduction of BIOS 4.00.

Call HP OmniBook Technical Support if you are still having problems
with passwords after this update.

You do not need to install this update if you are still using
BIOS 3.22 and Windows for Workgroups.



BIOS 3.22 Windows for Workgroup Users

If you are still using BIOS 3.22 and Windows for Workgroups
and you need to remove a password, do not install this upgrade.
Call Hewlett Packard Technical support to achieve the
removal of the unwanted password.

This installation program does the following things:

1) Checks to make sure the product in an OmniBook 600.
2) Updates the BIOS to 4.01.
3) Provides updates to the OmniBook User Tools.


W H A T S  N E E D E D
**********************

To upgrade your OmniBook 600 to BIOS 4.01, you need the
following items:

 - This single disk (Windows 95 HP BIOS version 4.01).
 - The A/C adapter for your OmniBook.
 - The 3.5 inch floppy drive for your OmniBook.



I N S T R U C T I O N S
***********************

You must follow the steps below to properly 
upgrade your OmniBook 600 to Bios 4.01. These steps 
are described in detail.  Failure to do so may make your
system unusable and will require further
Hewlett-Packard Technical Support Assistance.


1. Attach your AC Power Adapter and the External Floppy Drive.
2. Do a complete SHUT DOWN of Windows.
3. Reboot your system with [Ctrl][Alt][Del] or press the reset.
4. Press [F8] at the beep or when "Starting Windows 95" displayed.
5. Choose "Command prompt only" at the Windows 95 Startup Menu.
6. Insert this disk in the floppy drive.
7. Type A:
8. Type CD A:\
9. Type Install
10. After the install - Reboot your system into windows.


This completes the BIOS 4.01 upgrade on your Windows 95 system.
